Ordained as a monk at Dharma Drum Mountain Sangha University in 2002; received full ordination in 2004; graduated in 2006; Previous positions: Educational Institutions: Dean of the Sangha University & Supervisor of the Sangha Training Institute; Propagation Institutions: Supervisor of the Youth Development Institute & Supervisor of the Elephant Hills Monastery in New York & Supervisor of the San Francisco Monastery; Current position: Secretary-General of the Dharma Drum Mountain Social Welfare and Charity Foundation. Has a deep interest and commitment to Buddhist history, early Buddhism, Maitreya thought, and the development of Mahayana Pure Land Buddhism.

Ordained as a monk in 2009, received full Bhikkhu ordination in 2011, and took the precepts at the Taiwan Main Zen Center in 2015. In 2017, took the precepts at the Elephant Hills Meditation Center in the United States. Since 2020, has been taking the precepts at the San Francisco Meditation Center. During this period, he has taught basic meditation courses and led and supported short-term and long-term meditation activities in Mexico, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, and Hong Kong.

Venerable Yanqi joined the Dharma Drum Mountain San Francisco Bay Area Center (Fremont Meditation Center) as a Dharma Master in December 2024. He began a six-year meditation training program at the Dharma Drum Mountain Sangha University in 2018. During this time, he learned how to organize and operate a meditation center, lead meditation workshops and activities, and teach Buddhism in both Chinese and English.
The Venerable was ordained as a novice monk at Dharma Drum Mountain in 2019 and received full ordination as a Bhikkhu at Yuantong Temple in Puli, Taiwan in 2022. During his ordination period, he was honored to be selected as the head novice monk. During his ordination, he not only served the novices but also diligently studied the Vinaya Pitaka and the Bodhisattva Precepts of the Brahma Net Sutra.
Prior to ordination, he earned a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering in 2015, specializing in hearing aids, hearing loss, psychoacoustics, and medical device validation. Despite his engineering background, he believes that while technology can make our lives more convenient, it cannot bring true happiness. Practicing Buddhism and meditation can bring true happiness. Therefore, he vowed to study and share Buddhism, persevering in his efforts to awaken the same compassion and wisdom in everyone as in the Buddha.

Venerable Changyuan is a meditation teacher with over ten years of experience. In 2002, he first entered Dharma Drum University to study formal Buddhist education. In 2006, he received full ordination. After graduating from DDSU, he dedicated the next four years to the education and management of youth groups.
From 2010 to 2014, Venerable Chang Yuan managed the administrative units at the Dharma Drum Mountain Meditation Center, promoting meditation, including training classes, meditation courses, and short retreats. During this period, he organized two large and notable meditation events, with a total of 10,000 participants. From 2010 to 2017, he completed his meditation training at the DDMO Meditation Hall and became a meditation teacher. Subsequently, he spent several years in Taiwan teaching and spreading meditation and organizing numerous retreats.
In 2018, he served as a resident monk at the San Francisco Buddhist center. Since 2020, he has served as the director of the Dharma Drum Retreat Center in Pine bush, New York
